Sail. Maintain.
Stay in control.

Live tracking, weather routing, maintenance and budget together in your boat’s personal space. NavLive Connect opens gradually, by invitation — new spots every week.

The NavLive Connect navigation view: the boat’s track off Marseille toward Hyères, and the instrument column showing speed over ground, heading, satellites and averages.

Live position

The onboard box reports position, heading and speed over 4G. The day’s track and the route vector projected 30 or 60 minutes ahead appear on the chart.

Instruments at the screen edge

The right-hand column stays readable in full sun and at night, with a dark mode and a red night mode.

Logbook and replay

The LIVE slider at the bottom of the chart replays any archived outing: the track unrolls again with its data.

A public link to share

Share a public tracking link: your family and friends follow the boat’s position and live data, just like on an offshore race tracker. No account, no install.

How it works

The box and the online tool

NavLive Connect comes in two parts. An acquisition box installed on board records the boat’s position and data. This online tool, paired with the box, makes them readable — at sea from the chart table, or ashore from any screen.

1

On board — the acquisition box

It measures and it transmits. Two ways to get it, depending on how much tracking you want.

NavLiveConnect Tracker

Coming soon

The mobile app. Your phone becomes the box and reports speed and heading. Nothing to install on board, nothing to buy: the simplest way to start.

NavLiveConnect 4G

Purchase link coming

The physical box, wired to the boat’s NMEA network: it collects far more than position, stores data on board and transmits it over 4G. It’s the most complete tracking, and the one that feeds instruments, performance and routing. It carries its own Wi-Fi and its dedicated configuration interface.

2

At sea or ashore — the online tool

Paired with your box, it shows what it sends on a real nautical chart — not a mere dot on a road map. Reachable from on board and from home, on desktop and on phone.

  • The chart, the day’s track and the instruments, live.
  • The same data replayed after the outing: logbook, performance, records.
  • Weather routing, maintenance and budget fed by the same history.
  • A public tracking link to share with those following you ashore.

One account, the whole boat.

Every module shares the same data. Your settings, routes and history stay yours, on all your screens.

Weather routing

Two strategies compared on the same weather

The engine explores headings through time, applies your boat’s polar, adds current to the surface vector, penalises sea state and avoids land. It returns several routes to compare.

  • Compares Full sail and Sail + engine: duration, distance, share actually under sail.
  • Wind, gusts, waves and current from Open‑Meteo, up to 1,200 NM and a 240 h horizon.
  • Replays the route hour by hour: real wind, angle, sea state, planned heading, propulsion.
  • Optional waypoint, to force the route through a given point.
Two routes computed between Marseille and Calvi, wind barbs on the chart, an analysis panel and an hour-by-hour reading of the forecast.

Regatta

The whole fleet on a single chart

Create a regatta with its course, share the code, and each crew joins the fleet. All it takes is the Tracker app or the 4G box on each boat.

  • A full course: start line, marks to round to port or starboard, finish line.
  • Each boat with its track, speed, heading, rank and next mark.
  • A public link to share: family, friends and club follow with no account or install.
  • A regatta chat, open to those following from the public link too.
  • Race replay, to talk it over once back ashore.
The Regatta module: eight boats and their coloured tracks on the race chart, the ranking with skipper, gap to the leader, speed and heading, and the label of the selected boat.

Instruments

One colour per reading

The hue identifies the data before you’ve read its label. Figures are fixed-width and tabular, so they don’t jitter when the value changes.

  • 21 fields available: SOG, COG, averages, records, VMG/VMC, GPS quality…
  • Order, visibility and colour adjustable field by field.
  • Adjustable window for computing derived indicators.
The NavLive instrument panel: ten dials showing speed over ground, heading, satellites, averages and records, each in its own colour.

Analysis

Speeds and angles on separate axes

Each series can be shown or hidden, over a window from thirty minutes to the whole session. Angles don’t share the speed axis.

  • Minimum, average and maximum per series, over the chosen window.
  • Validated speed records, independent of the window shown.
  • CSV export of the raw points.
Telemetry analysis charts: speed over ground and true wind curves on separate axes, with minimum, average and maximum.

Maintenance

Tickets, due dates and a work log

Tickets are sorted by technical area and due date. Every job joins the boat’s log, and stays there.

  • Priorities and near due dates surfaced first.
  • Timestamped work log, kept from one season to the next.
  • A ticket links to a job, and a job to its invoice.
Maintenance dashboard: open tickets, completed work, the year’s spending and due dates to handle first.

Budget

Actual against the annual budget

The annual budget is compared to actual spending, broken down by technical area and expense family. The forecast includes work still being estimated.

  • Annual cap, remaining balance and forecast, in one place.
  • Breakdown by technical area and family: mooring, insurance, maintenance…
  • Invoice attached to its ticket, with the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us

Is NavLive Connect an alternative to PredictWind?
NavLive Connect offers weather routing (isochrones, polar, wind, sea and current), and goes beyond routing alone: live 4G boat tracking, instruments, regatta, maintenance and budget in one place.
Is weather routing included?
Yes. Every account has a routing quota, unlimited on the Full and Pro+ plans. The engine compares several strategies on the same Open-Meteo weather, up to 1,200 NM and a 240 h horizon.
Do I need a box to track my boat?
Not to start: the Tracker app turns a phone into a position source. The NavLive Connect 4G box, wired to the NMEA network, brings the most complete tracking and feeds instruments, performance and routing.
Can I share the boat’s position with family and friends?
Yes, through a public tracking link: family, friends and club follow the live position and data, with no account or install, just like an offshore race tracker.
