Take NavLiveConnect aboard.

The NavLiveConnect Mac app and the NMEA gateway simulator to test your instruments without any hardware.

Test tool

NMEA gateway simulator

Simulates a boat’s Wi-Fi gateway (Digital Yacht, Yacht Devices, MiniPlex, NKE…): realistic NMEA 0183 and AIS over TCP and UDP on your local network.

  • Realistic wind, heading, speed, depth and AIS targets
  • Sailing programmes: beat, reach, run
  • Simulated failures: lost stream, bad checksum, latency
  • Windowless mode for a Mac mini or automated tests

macOS 14 or later · Apple silicon and Intel

The simulator and the app, side by side.

Start the simulator, pick a gateway model, then press “START SIMULATION”. In NavLiveConnect, open Instruments and run the detection: the gateway shows up with wind, heading, speed, depth and AIS targets. Allow local network access when macOS asks.

Navigation aid: this software does not replace official charts or a proper watch. It is provided as is during the beta.
